Georg co-founded CGNET in 1983 as a sustainable organization that would keep its clients at the leading edge of practical information and communication technology, with an emphasis on networking, messaging and collaboration. He has overseen and undertaken IT infrastructure designs and installations in Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, and Australia. His on-the-ground experience includes working with scores of international organizations, including for example, USAID, USDA, IFAD, UNDP, UNEP, UNHCR, FAO, World Food Program, World Bank, IDRC, and DFID.
Prior to CGNET, Georg worked for Nortel Networks’ R & D laboratory Bell Northern Research. He was an architect of the OPEN WORLD Planning Framework, an integrated approach to networking computers, voice, and data communication. Georg has undertaken consulting assignments for the Rand Corporation, SRI International, NASA, NSF, Los Alamos National Scientific Laboratories, National Institutes for Health, KQED Television, UCLA, UC-Berkley, University of Southern California, Stanford University and many others.
